Introduction to Numerology
Numerology is the study of the symbolism and significance of numbers. It is based on the belief that numbers have inherent meanings and can be used to understand and interpret a person’s personality, strengths, and challenges, as well as to forecast their future.
Calculating Your Personal Numerology
To calculate your personal numerology, you will need to know your birth date. From this, you can determine your life path number, which is considered the most important number in numerology. To calculate your life path number, add together all the digits in your birth date and reduce the total to a single digit (except for the numbers 11 and 22, which are considered master numbers and are not reduced).
For example, if your birth date is July 4th, 1980, your life path number would be calculated as follows:
7 + 4 + 1 + 9 + 8 + 0 = 29
2 + 9 = 11 (a master number)
Your life path number is therefore 11.
The Meaning of the Numbers in Numerology
Each number in numerology is believed to have its own unique meaning and significance. Here is a brief overview of the meanings of the numbers 1 through 9:
- 1: independence, leadership, ambition
- 2: balance, harmony, cooperation
- 3: creativity, self-expression, communication
- 4: stability, structure, practicality
- 5: change, adventure, freedom
- 6: responsibility, service, nurturance
- 7: introspection, spirituality, analysis
- 8: abundance, material success, power
- 9: compassion, humanitarianism, selflessness
Interpreting Your Numerology
To interpret your numerology, you can look at the meanings of the numbers associated with your life path, as well as any other significant numbers in your numerology chart, such as your expression number (calculated from the consonants in your full name) and your soul.
