What are the Lunar Nodes?
The lunar nodes are two points in space where the moon’s orbit around the Earth intersects the Earth’s orbit around the Sun. These points are called the North Node and the South Node, and they are considered to be important points of reference in astrology.
The North Node and the South Node
The North Node represents the path forward, and is associated with new beginnings and growth. It is often considered to be a point of destiny or purpose, and is thought to represent the qualities and abilities that we are meant to develop and cultivate in this lifetime.
On the other hand, the South Node represents the past and is associated with the qualities and abilities that we have already developed. It is often considered to be a point of comfort and familiarity, and is thought to represent the things that come easily to us.
The Nodes and Life Changes
In astrology, the North Node is often seen as a point of major change and transition. When a planet or point in the birth chart makes a significant aspect (such as a conjunction, square, or opposition) to the North Node, it can indicate a time of significant growth and change.
For example, if someone has a planet in their birth chart conjunct the North Node, it might indicate a time in their life when they are meant to focus on developing the qualities and abilities represented by that planet. This might involve leaving behind old patterns and habits, and embracing new opportunities and challenges.
Similarly, if the transiting North Node makes a significant aspect to a planet or point in someone’s birth chart, it can indicate a time of major change and transition. This might involve leaving behind old patterns and habits, and embracing new opportunities and challenges.
Using the Nodes to Navigate Change
While the North Node can represent a time of significant change and transition, it can also be a helpful tool for navigating these changes. By understanding the qualities and abilities represented by the North Node, we can better understand what is being asked of us in this moment, and how we can use our strengths and abilities to move forward.
