How Numerology Works

In numerology, practitioners use a person’s name and birth date to create a numerology chart, also known as a numerology report or numerology reading. This chart is believed to reveal the individual’s personality, strengths, challenges, and life path.

To create a numerology chart, practitioners typically start by reducing a person’s name and birth date to a single digit. For example, the name “John Smith” might be reduced to the number 6 using the following formula:

J = 1
O = 6
H = 8
N = 5
S = 1
M = 4
I = 9
T = 2
H = 8

The total for this example is 35, which is then reduced to a single digit by adding 3 and 5 to get 8.

The birth date is also reduced to a single digit using a similar process. For example, the birth date of January 1st, 1980 would be reduced to the number 1 using the following formula:

1 + 1 + 1 + 9 + 8 + 0 = 20
2 + 0 = 2

Once the name and birth date have been reduced to single digits, the numerologist can then use these numbers to create a chart that reveals the individual’s numerology profile.
